Q: Are there any minimum qualifications?
A: A rider must have a motorcycle drivers license and at least
one-year of heavy weight motorcycle experience. Safety is our
primary concern that cannot be compromised. The locations where we
ride are no place to learn how to handle a Harley. Riders must
possess the knowledge, skill and ability to operate a heavy weight
motorcycle.
Riders must be 21 years of age and must have a
major credit card.
Q: How long are the rides?
A: The riding portion of the trip is usually 10 days. There
will be a non-riding day at the beginning to give you time to get
over the jet lag and a day at the end to prepare for departure.
Q: Do I have to ride in a group during the guided rides?
A: You can ride with the group or on your own. The support
vehicle will leave with your luggage from the hotel where you stayed
and proceed along the recommended route. Some riders prefer to
follow the support vehicle in a group while others prefer to leave
earlier or later then the support vehicle and make their own way.
If you need assistance enroute, you can call the guide by
cellphone and the support vehicle will be sent to assist you. In
most cases the support vehicle will be pulling a motorcycle trailer
in case you have a breakdown along the roadside. In some cases we
will have a spare motorcycle on that trailer that we can swap out
for your broken one.
Q: How far do you ride each day?
A: That depends upon the distance between points that we have
to cover that day which varies day-to-day and ride-to-ride. It
would be rare to ride over 200 miles in any one day.
Our
emphasis is on quality, not quantity.
Q: I live to ride and I don't care about museums or art. Can I
ride every day all Day?
A: You can ride all you want. On those days where an option
day is scheduled there will also be a ride available in the local
area.
Q: Do you offer rides in places other then Italy and the Alps?
A: Our goal is to offer one new trip each year so that our
clients can come back year after year and be able to have a new
experience. The Italy and Alps rides are classics and on the "must
do" list for any serious Ultimate Harley rider. We will keep those
rides and add others.
Some future possibilities are rides in the French wine country,
World War II battlefields of France and perhaps the Greek Islands.
The Ultimate Thunder staff visited the Greek Islands recently to
look over the possibilities there. The Island of Rhodes was
particularly impressive.
If there is a ride that you would like for us to consider,
please send us a comment from the contact us page above or

and let us know.
Q: Can I upgrade to a five star hotel?
A: In most locations you may upgrade to a luxury hotel. There
may be some small towns that do not offer luxury accommodations.
You will find that the hotels we use are very nice, even charming,
and well located although they are mid range, usually two to four
stars. Just let us know when you book your ride.
