Classic American Route from Chicago to Los Angeles
Sorry, no slots available for 2009

This ride features the breathtaking beauty of the French and Swiss Alps. We will visit the village of Zermatt, at the base of the Matterhorn.
The town of Chamonix in the French Alps is nestled in the valley below the highest peak in the Alps, Mont Blanc. We will remain in Chamonix long enough for you to have an option day here during which you can take a day ride to Montreau Switzerland, and learn to paraglide or rock climb. The tiny village of Fineau, just over the border in Switzerland, claims to have the best cheese fondue in the world. It is just a short but beautiful ride to check out that claim.
The village of Andermatt is in the middle of Switzerland and is a motorcycle playground. Riders flock to this area from all over Europe to experience the great riding here.
If you ride in any direction from Andermatt you will soon be in the most dramatic scenery in Switzerland. If you are a James Bond fan you may recognize the Belvedere Hotel and the curves of the Furka Pass near Andermatt from the movie "Goldfinger".
Walk into a Glacier
Near the top of the Furka Pass is the Rhone Glacier which has a tunnel carved into it that you can walk into.
The next Thunder in the Alps will be in late June or July 2010.
